Since the launch of Autodesk's new buying experience, we've been tracking the important steps our customers need to take to ensure a smooth experience. If you are purchasing in the new buying experience for the first time, read our blog on our best practices here.
One of the (many) critical steps is to make sure you pay your invoice on time, so you don't lose access to your software!
Autodesk is enforcing its shutoff policy for payments not processed by the invoice due date, if you choose to pay by invoice with Autodesk's net 30 terms. This means you will lose access to your software until your invoice is paid. To ensure your users do not lose access to their software, here are some tips to share with your accounting team:
-
Make sure your accounting department who will be paying the invoice is added as an admin in your Autodesk Account team.
-
They should also be listed as a payer when completing the purchase from the quote.
-
When you click “buy” on your quote, you’ll be able to select "Pay by Invoice" and assign a payer.
-
In this field, you can also add any internal PO numbers and notes to be added to your invoice. Payers will receive a copy of the invoice from Autodesk via email once the purchase is complete.
-
Make sure you pay your invoice within 30 days of the invoice date. To ensure your invoice is received and paid on time, we recommend paying by credit card or direct debit (ACH).
-
If you choose to pay by check, it is important to send the check as soon as possible, because checks take longer to receive and apply to your account. If you send your check to the wrong address, such as the Autodesk corporate address listed at the top of your invoice, you could be in danger of losing access to your subscriptions. This is why we recommend paying by credit card or direct debit (ACH).
IMPORTANT: Please be sure to use the remittance address in the box in the lower right-hand corner of your invoice. This is the address that the check should be mailed to, not the corporate address at the top of the invoice.

Again, Autodesk is enforcing its shutoff policy for invoices that are past 30 days from invoice date. That policy varies by software. For example, if you purchase an ACC license - such as BIM Collaborate Pro - you could lose access as soon as the invoice is past due (day 31 from invoice date).
