The Benefits of Automated Model Checking in the Cloud (BLD500021) Panel Discussion TJ Meehan and Jason Kunkel Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 - 1:30 PM EST In this timely panel discussion, hear how building owners, large and medium design firms, and the industry as a whole is using and benefitting from automated model checking. This panel will include a building owner (Denver International Airport) that manages all its design and construction projects in BIM 360 ; a large design firm (Jacobs) that works with DEN and other owners; a small design firm and how it works onBIM 360projects; and the product development team responsible for Model Checker for Revit and Model Checker for Forge (CADD Microsystems). Taking the Leap: Transitioning to a BIM Manager (BES500077) Industry Talk Chris Lindo Tuesday, October 5, 2021 - 7 PM EST As technology, applications, and solutions continue to expand into the realm of BIM (Building Information Modeling), the BIM manager is more critical than ever and has taken on new roles and responsibilities. At first glance, BIM managers are in charge of various tasks related to BIM efforts in their respective organizations. More so than ever, we see the role of BIM manager to also be that of a thought leader and solutions expert. In this session, we'll take a look at the role of BIM manager, how it fits in today's fast-paced environment, and we'll discuss how to transition to such a role within an organization.
Becoming a True JEDI: Allyship for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (AS500227) Panel Discussion Purvi Gandhi Irwin Wednesday, October 6th - 2 PM EST Understanding the principles of JEDI (justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion) is important. However, it’s only when you demonstrate that understanding through your actions that you can make a difference in the world. One crucial way is to become an ally. In this panel discussion, we will build on the information learned at last year’s roundtable—The Diversity Problem in the AEC Industry. We’ll address real actions we can take to understand how JEDI issues affect the AEC industry, and specific steps we can take to become allies. Attendees will learn from speakers' experiences about how being an ally can encourage inclusion that is mutually beneficial for team collaboration, diversity of ideas, and inclusivity through leadership. During this session, we will explore what it means to be an ally specifically in the AEC space, look at ways panelists and attendees have seen allies help others, and discuss what it takes to become an ally.
As always, our team is very excited about this year's conference. We hope to see you there! Learn more
