Autodesk continued its mid-year release update in Revit 2023 by recently releasing Revit 2023.1. This point release has many new features. Below lists out, what I believe are the top 5 new features.
#1 - Twinmotion for Revit
Twinmotion for Revit allows users to easily bring their designs to life and create high-quality visualizations in a fast, interactive creative process. Everything from photorealistic stills and animations to compelling immersive VR is possible. Using real-time tools, you can explore more options in the same amount of time; better engage stakeholders by exploring designs and making tweaks on the fly, and create experiences that take people to a future they are invested in.
#2 - Leaders on Room Tags
In previous releases when a Room Tag is moved outside of the room, Revit would show this warning:
To eliminate this warning users would have to check the Leader check box to enable the leader for the Room tag. I am happy to tell you that this warning will no longer appear when you move a Room Tag outside a room. In this release, Revit will automatically place leaders on Room Tags without checking the Leader checkbox.
#3 - Moving Views Between Sheets
Views on sheets can now be moved to another sheet by dragging the view in Project Browser. The view will automatically be placed in the same location on the new sheet.
#4 - Split with Gap on MEP Systems
The command Split with Gap now works with MEP system families. This includes Duct, Pipe, Cable Tray, Conduit, as well as straight segments of MEP Fabrication Ductwork, MEP Fabrication Pipework, and MEP Fabrication Containment.
#5 - Elevation Base Settings for Points on Floors and Roofs
When adding points on floors and roofs to define slopes, you can now add points along surfaces, offset from surfaces, or at absolute values from the elevation base of your choice. This improves design efficiency for floors and roofs.
